Why Buy Canadamark® Mined Diamonds

CanadaMark® diamonds come from the Ekati mine in a remote region near the Arctic Circle and are tracked through audited processes from origin to polished stones. The mine follows strict environmental regulations. Since the discovery of diamonds in this area in the 1990s, the mine has a history of protecting the integrity of the land, water, and wildlife.

Why CanadaMark® Diamonds?

RESPONSIBILITY

Diamond mines were discovered in Canada in the early 1990s, leading to the implementation of responsible mining practices. This includes improving lives, strengthening communities, protecting wildlife, and respecting the environment. Through the Canadamark® program, all mines adhere to Canada's strict environmental regulations and often exceed them.

ETHICAL

The diamond mines that adhere to the Canadamark® program, prioritize the employment and training of indigenous residents, implement indigenous-led wildlife monitoring programs, and feature top-tier water recycling and composting systems. As a result, these mines are leaders in community engagement, environmental stewardship, and waste management practices.

TRACEABILITY

The Canadamark® mining process is fully transparent, with every diamond being tracked through independent, audited processes from its origin in the mine to the polished stone. The diamonds are then inspected, graded, and certified by an independent Gemological Authority, such as GIA. Laser inscription further proves each diamond has followed the Canadamark® process.

Origin

Rough diamonds are found in kimberlite pipes, which were formed in the magma of the Earth’s mantle billions of year ago then forced up in volcanic eruptions. While more than 2,000 kimberlite pipes have been discovered around the world, only a few are worthy to be mined.

Guaranteed Canadian

Each CanadaMark® diamond is tracked from the mine through production to the final polished stone. During this strict audited diamond tracking system each diamond is assigned a unique tracking number – Diamond Identification Number – DIN, guaranteeing its Canadian origin. This unique number is lasered on the polished diamond and printed on the certificate of origin.
