Rough diamonds are found in kimberlite pipes, which were formed in the magma of the Earth’s mantle billions of year ago then forced up in volcanic eruptions. While more than 2,000 kimberlite pipes have been discovered around the world, only a few are worthy to be mined.
Each CanadaMark® diamond is tracked from the mine through production to the final polished stone. During this strict audited diamond tracking system each diamond is assigned a unique tracking number – Diamond Identification Number – DIN, guaranteeing its Canadian origin. This unique number is lasered on the polished diamond and printed on the certificate of origin.
