New Zealand uses the same letter ring sizes as the UK and Australia, running from A to Z. The most common women's ring sizes in NZ are M to N (US 6½ to 7) and the most common men's sizes are T to V (US 10 to 11). Measure your finger using the steps below, then use our ring size conversion chart to switch between NZ letters, millimetres, and US or European sizes.
How do I find my ring size?
If you're unsure of your ring sizes and unable to visit us at Botany Town Centre to be professionally measured, you can use these quick and easy methods to find your approximate ring size.
Method 1: Measure a Ring
1. Use an existing ring that fits the desired finger.
2. Measure the internal diameter of the ring.
3. Use the chart below to determine your ring size. If your ideal fit falls between two ring sizes, we recommend choosing
the larger size.
Method 2: Measure the Desired Finger
1. Use a flexible measuring tape to measure the circumference of the desired finger. If you don’t have a measuring tape, a string or strip of paper will work just fine.
2. Wrap the paper or string snug, but not too tight, around your finger where you want the ring to sit.
3. Mark the spot where it meets and measure the distance. This is the circumference of your finger. Match it to the circumference column in the chart below.
Tip: fingers are largest at the end of the day and smallest in cold weather, so measure in the evening for the truest fit. If the ring has to pass over a large knuckle, measure the knuckle too and pick a size in between.
NZ Ring Size Conversion Chart
Find your measurement in the diameter or circumference column, then read across for your NZ letter size and its US equivalent. If you fall between two sizes, choose the larger one.

European ring sizes are the inside circumference in millimetres, so a European 54 matches the 54.4mm row (an N, or US 7). Sizes larger than Z (Z+1 to Z+6) are available for most of our rings. If your measurement falls outside this chart, contact us and we will size you properly.

FAQs
If you’re between ring sizes, we generally recommend going up to the next half size for comfort. Fingers can swell with heat or activity, so a slightly looser fit can be more comfortable.
The most common women's ring sizes in New Zealand are M to N, which convert to a US 6½ to 7. The most common men's sizes are T to V, a US 10 to 11. These are only averages, so always measure the exact finger before ordering.
Find the US size in the chart above and read across to the NZ/UK/AU letter. A US 5 is a J½, a US 7 is an N, and a US 10 is a T. New Zealand, the UK, Ireland and Australia all share the same letter sizing.
European ring sizes are simply the inside circumference in millimetres, so a 54mm measurement is close to an N (US 7) and a 62mm measurement is close to a T (US 10). Match your measurement to the circumference column in the chart. If you measured across the inside of a ring, use the diameter column instead.
Ring size O has an inside diameter of about 17.7mm and an inside circumference of about 55.7mm. It converts to a US 7½. Size O sits one full size above N, the most common women's engagement ring size in NZ.
